TUESDAY OVERVIEW

Please arrive at the course at least 30 minutes prior to scheduled start time to practice and sign up for events. Toqua and Kahite have driving ranges and all 3 courses have a practice green.  Range balls are free for league play so they should be on the range (if not, inquire at pro-shop).  Please be in or by your assigned golf cart 10 – 15 minutes before play for announcements.  A golf course employee should assist you with your bag and help you find the golf cart for your assigned starting hole.  Other than special events, play is a shotgun start.  Make sure you check in and pay your green/cart fees in the pro-shop.  There will also be a table set up outside the pro shop for you to sign up for optional games (50/50, chip-ins, skins) that cost money.

Birdies

The first time you get a birdie during league play, you will receive a birdie ballmarker the following week at the check in table.  Record every birdie during league play on the front of the card stating your name, hole number, and the word “birdie”.  You will only receive one birdie ballmarker, but a volunteer tracks all birdies.  At the closing luncheon, she will announce birdie highlights from the season. There is no cost to participate.

50/50 Drawing

50/50 is optional.  To participate, put $1 in the pot for an opportunity to win 50% of the pot.  Make sure to write your name on the drawing list.  Just before play, a name will be drawn.  The winner receives half the money collected and the other half goes into the league funds.  There is not a 50/50 drawing on PIN day.

Chip-Ins

This fund is optional and costs 50 cents.  If you want to participate, put 50 cents into the tin and highlight your name on the alphabetical list next to the tin.  If you get a chip-in during that day’s league play, write your name and hole number on the front of the card along with the word “chip-in”.  If you did not donate to the chip-in fund and you make a chip-in, please do not write it on the front of the card. Each week, the total chip-in money is divided amongst the chip-in winners.  You may use a putter or any other club to chip the ball into the hole from off the green.  If you win, the following week your award money will be in an envelope at the check in table with your name on it.

PIN Day/Skins

Approximately once a month there will be an event called PIN Day which is an individual stroke play game.  First, second, and third place points will be awarded for low net and low gross winners from each flight and tee color.  The person who has accumulated the most pin day points will receive our Pin Day Award, one from green tee and one from yellow tee at our end of the year luncheon.  One lowest putt winner earns points each PIN day so you must putt out every hole to qualify for putts.

Skins

Skins is a game in golf where players compete for a prize – usually money – on every hole.  The money at stake is called a “skin”.  Skins are separated by tee color. The player with the lowest score on a hole wins a skin.  Skin money is paid for the lowest gross score on a hole and the lowest net score on a hole. If there is a tie between any 2 players on a hole, there is not a skin for that hole.

Skins is an optional game on PIN day.  It is $2 to participate as $1 goes towards gross skins and $1 goes towards net skins. Each skin is worth the total amount of money collected divided by the number of skins won. The golf pro reviews the cards to determine skin winners both gross and net for each tee color.  Money is awarded to winners in the form of pro-shop credits which are posted to your credit book (in Chelsea) by the following week.
